Meet Our Officers

PRESIDENT:  SHANNA BREE POCHATKO

“In healthcare, pathways aren’t handed to us. We learn to recognize them, navigate them, and ultimately shine brighter because of them.”

I’m Shanna “Bree” Pochatko, Coding Education Analyst, AAPC Approved Instructor, Emerging Leader Alumni, and current NCFAAPC Chapter President, with over 20 years of experience in healthcare and more than eight years focused in coding, auditing, and education.

I’m known for transforming how people experience coding, bringing clarity to complexity and meaning to the data.

With CPC, CDEO, and CPMA certifications, I blend technical expertise with a deeply human-centered approach, guiding coders beyond memorization to true understanding, where the why fuels confidence, accuracy, and lasting success.

I guide coders from task-based work to meaningful understanding, encouraging them to challenge assumptions, push beyond their comfort zones, and recognize their own pathways within the profession.

Grounded in analytical rigor, creativity, and a deep respect for the human story behind the data, I bring both head and heart to healthcare education.

Because to me, coding is never just codes.
 It’s stories.
 It’s people.
 It’s impact.

Every pathway in coding holds possibility. My role is to help you recognize it, navigate it, and shine brighter as you emerge into all you’re capable of.

VICE PRESIDENT: JENNIFER JOHNSON

Jennifer Johnson is the current 2026 Vice President of the NCF APPC Chapter. She is a graduate of Madison College (WI) with an Associate Degree in dental hygiene, and completed her Bachelor’s Degree in oral health promotion and education.

During her more than 15 years providing direct clinical care in private general dental practice, she was active in her professional association in various volunteer leadership positions. Her interest in treatment planning, patient financial matters, and the overall business of the dental office led her to pursue an Associate Degree in Insurance Billing and Medical Coding. She obtained her CPC, CPB, and CPMA certificates through AAPC.

She owns her own company, currently serving oral health care providers, doing medical and dental coding and billing. She is also the administrative assistant of the American Fluoridation Society, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and preserving oral and systemic health.

She enjoys volunteering to be a part of her professional chapter. She has served two years as Vice President and two years as Secretary for her local chapter. She took a big part of the role of Education Officer, along with her role as VP, this year due to the position being vacant.

TREASURER: ELIZABETH EDINGER

My name is Liz Edinger, and I am your 2026 AAPC Gainesville Chapter Treasurer. I received my CPC in August 2017 and immediately became involved with our local chapter.

Before becoming certified I worked at Shands in the Pediatric Primary Care Clinics for 15 years. I started as a Medical Assistant and worked my way up to Site Supervisor. Once a certified coder, I worked in the Department of Pediatrics as a Clinical Coder I for four years. In 2021 I was able to extend my knowledge further and accepted a position in the UF Department of Medicine. Currently I am a Coder III with UF Department of Medicine. I love my job and am learning something new every day. I cover so many different and interesting specialties (too many to mention). I enjoy teaching new coders, as well as up and coming coders.

I have served our chapter as Secretary (2019), Vice President (2020, 2021), President (2023, 2024) and Member Development Officer (2025).

SECRETARY: ADREA McCORMACK

My name is Adrea McCormack; I am your current 2026 Secretary. I received my certification in December 2023 where I met Liz Edinger (2023 President) and I jumped at the chance to join my first official AAPC chapter meeting, where I was blown away by the acceptance, support, assistance, and comradery this chapter provides; so I eagerly decided to run in the 2025 elections and was nominated for Vice President.

I had my one-year anniversary on September 10th for my first coding job with PhyCare Solutions, (solely because I was referred to by a member of our chapter) ...but, I honestly had no idea at the time, the additional growth I would achieve in the past two years from being an officer. I was given the opportunity to spread my wings and do my first professional (AAPC CEU approved) presentation (Cluck for Care) for our chapter, as well as assisting in organizing other presentations encompassing multiple organizations in our community; and I can fully attribute this growth to being a member of this chapter. The power of education and networking is substantial in our chosen career path and I very much appreciate everything being a member of the North Central Florida Chapter has to offer.

My personal life is full of adventures with my husband, son, three dogs, six chickens, our cat, and more hobbies than I can list…including contributing what I can to help our chapter be successful.

MEMBERSHIP DEVELOPMENT: JESSICA BEVERIDGE

Hi, I’m Jessica Beveridge, a proud AAPC North Central Florida Chapter member since 2017. I currently hold the CPC, CPPM, CDEO, and CFPC credentials, along with a Master’s in Healthcare Administration. I'm the Assistant Director for the University of Florida’s Pediatrics Endocrinology Division, recently transitioning from my role as Coding & Reimbursement Supervisor for the Department of Community Health and Family Medicine.

With experience in physician coding and billing across multiple specialties, including Hospitalist, Endocrinology, GI, Urgent Care, Acute Care, Psychology, Family Medicine and residency continuity clinics, I bring a deep understanding of the revenue cycle and its critical connection to coding and billing. I thrive in this ever-evolving field because I consider myself a lifelong learner.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of mentoring colleagues and guiding others into the world of coding. Supporting professional growth has become one of my most rewarding responsibilities, and I am honored to continue this in the official capacity as Member Development Officer. I’m an active networker, regularly connecting with other chapters and attending virtual meetings nationwide—connections which I believe benefit our chapter’s members greatly.
